2. Sustainable Lighting in Cultural Buildings - Blue Collars Course
The Culture Lights VET training course, titled "Sustainable Lighting in Cultural Buildings – Blue Collars," is designed to equip blue-collar professionals with the skills and knowledge necessary to contribute to the preservation and sustainability of cultural heritage buildings, with a particular focus on lighting solutions. This course caters to professionals such as installers, technicians, electricians, builders, employees of lighting companies, and others in similar roles who hold at least an EQF level 4 qualification.
The course is offered in Greek, Italian, and Polish and is facilitated by the Consortium Partners in collaboration with experts in the field. The program aims to provide participants with practical training in the essential aspects of lighting systems as they apply to cultural heritage buildings. This combination of practical skills and theoretical understanding is crucial for those working in the field, where technical proficiency must align with the unique demands of preserving historic structures.
The curriculum is organized into 5 distinct modules, each focused on a key aspect of sustainable lighting in historical contexts.
1) Lighting in Architectural History
2) Lighting fixtures: structures, working modes, historical models
3) Control systems for lighting fixtures
4) Programming DALI, KNX, CASAMBI
5) Sustainable building certification systems in lighting (Limitations in historical buildings \ what can be done\ what can’t be done)
Upon successful completion of all modules and passing the evaluation quizzes, participants will receive a certificate of participation. This certification will acknowledge their expertise in sustainable lighting practices for cultural heritage buildings, enabling them to play a key role in maintaining the delicate balance between modern sustainability standards and the preservation of historical integrity.
